Ovaj se nalazi u orbiti patuljastog planeta <strong>Makemake<\/strong>, koji se nalazi u Kuiperovu pojasu, daleko iza Neptunove orbite.<\/p>\n<p>Novoprona\u0111eni mjesec &#8211; trenutna oznaka glasi S\/2015 (136472) 1, no jednostavnosti radi koristi se <strong>MK 2<\/strong> &#8211; promjera je oko 160 km te kru\u017ei oko mati\u010dnog svijeta na udaljenosti od 21.000 km. Ukoliko je orbita kru\u017ena, to \u0107e zna\u010diti kako je MK 2 nastao tijekom nekog pradavnog sudara izme\u0111u Makemakea i drugog nebeskog tijela. Na takav je na\u010din, primjerice, nastao na\u0161 Mjesec. Parker)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Aktualne snimke s Hubblea, pomo\u0107u kojih je MK 2 otkriven, upu\u0107uju kako maleni mjesec vjerojatno nema zajedni\u010dke korijene sa svijetom oko kojega kru\u017ei: njegova je povr\u0161ina, naime, crna kao ugljen i kao takva su\u0161ta suprotnost povr\u0161ini Makemakea, koji je drugi najsvjetliji \u010dlan Kuiperova pojasa, odmah poslije Plutona.<\/p>\n<p>Makemakeova udaljenost od Sunca, ina\u010de, u prosjeku iznosi 45,7 astronomskih jedinica (1 AJ iznosi 150 milijuna km, \u0161to je prosje\u010dna udaljenost Zemlje od Sunca) te na\u010dini jednu revoluciju oko njega svakih 309 godina.
