Manji broj koji padne na Zemlju nazivaju se meteoriti, a u nastavku je \u0161est najve\u0107ih.<\/p>\n<p>Willamette je najve\u0107i meteorit prona\u0111en u SAD-u. Prona\u0111en je 1902. godine u ameri\u010dkoj dr\u017eavi Oregon i te\u017ei 15.5 tona. Sastavljen je najve\u0107im dijelom od \u017eeljeza i nikla. Otkrio ga je Ellis Hughes koji ga je, smatraju\u0107i da nije rije\u010d o obi\u010dnoj stijeni, tri mjeseca poku\u0161avao pomaknuti s javne povr\u0161ine dok nije uhva\u0107en. Onda\u0161nje stanovni\u0161tvo proglasilo ga je svetom stijenom i nazvalo kimondo. Uz njega nije prona\u0111en krater, \u0161to zna\u010di da se najvjerojatnije kotrljao kad je pao na povr\u0161inu. Otkriven je 1993. godine na Grenlandu i te\u017ei oko 20 tona. Duga\u010dak je 4.25 metra, \u0161irok 2 metra, a visok 1.75 metara. El Chaco te\u017ei 37 tona, \u0161to ga svrstava u drugi najte\u017ei koji je dosad pao na Zemlju. Otkriven je 1969. godine, pet metara ispod zemlje pomo\u0107u detektora metala. 1990. godine lovac na meteorite Robert Haag poku\u0161ao ga je ukrasti, no ubrzo je uhi\u0107en. 2016. godine otkriven je jo\u0161 jedan meteorit za kojeg se pretpostavlja da je dio iste stijene kao i El Chapo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21039230\" src=\"https:\/\/geek.hr\/znanost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/02\/17732869394_bd958014ef_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"690\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"https:\/\/geek.hr\/znanost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/02\/17732869394_bd958014ef_o.jpg 690w, https:\/\/geek.hr\/znanost\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2017\/02\/17732869394_bd958014ef_o-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Uvjerljivo najve\u0107i meteorit koji je ikad pao na Zemlju nazvan je Hoba, a prona\u0111en je u Namibiji. Njegova povr\u0161ina je 6.5 m\u00b2, a te\u017ei \u010dak 60 tona zbog \u010dega nikad nije premje\u0161ten. Pretpostavlja se da je na Zemlju pao prije otprilike 80.000 godina. Specifi\u010dan je po svojem obliku jer je plosnat. Budu\u0107i da je pao pod vrlo malim kutom, vjerojatno je \u201eskakutao\u201c po povr\u0161ini poput plosnatog kamena na vodi.
