Lokalno stanovni\u0161tvo se tako dosjetilo da od njihovog neobi\u010dnog izmeta izra\u0111uje originalne suvenire. Konkretno, radi se o papiru, zato \u0161to je izmet ovog koalinog ro\u0111aka bogat vlaknima. Turisti su, \u010dini se, odu\u0161evljeni.<\/p>\n<p>\u0160to se samog oblika izmeta ti\u010de, &#8220;kockice&#8221; su misterij koji se oduvijek djelomi\u010dno pripisivao <a href=\"https:\/\/theconversation.com\/why-do-wombats-do-cube-shaped-poo-55975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nizu zna\u010dajki.<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Neobi\u010dna probava<\/h4>\n<p>Izuzetno spor metabolizam, duga\u010dki probavni trakt i debelo crijevo, odnosno dug proces probavljanja hrane koji traje 14-18 dana. Izmet zato postaje suh i pretvara se u kockice. Ovaj se put u istra\u017eivanje uklju\u010dila i grupa znanstvenika\u00a0s Tehnolo\u0161kog instituta u Georgiji. Oni se bave hidrodinamikom fluida.<\/p>\n<p>Jedna od njih, Patricia Yang rekla je da je, vidjev\u0161i informacije isprva pomislila da se netko \u0161ali. \u201cNikad dosad nisam vidjela ni\u0161ta sli\u010dno. Vidjela sam fotografije kockastog izmeta, no i dalje sam bila skepti\u010dna pa sam se odlu\u010dila sama uvjeriti u postojanje ovog fenomena\u201d, rekla je.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKad smo kolega David Hu i ja otvorili utrobu vombata to je bilo poput otvaranja bo\u017ei\u0107nog poklona\u201d, tvrdi Yang. Uz nju su u ispitivanju fenomena sudjelovali biolozi i mehani\u010dki in\u017eenjeri.<\/p>\n<h4>Su\u0161a?<\/h4>\n<p>Ustanovili su kako se izmet pretvara\u00a0u kockice tek u posljednjih 8% crijeva.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Premda im je debelo crijevo jako elasti\u010dno, posljednjih 8% stijenki je ne\u0161to kru\u0107e, \u0161to rezultira o\u0161trim rubovima samog izmeta&#8221;, pojasnila je Yang.
